Hey Everyone,
We appreciate all the hard work you put in every day, and we want our pay structure to reflect that. We are making a big change to give everyone more financial stability while continuing to reward experience and loyalty.
Effective immediately, we are replacing the $3.85/hr + tips model with a brand-new structure:
New and under 2 Years: $25.00-26.00/hr + 10% daily tips
2+ Years: $27.00-28.00/hr + 10% daily tips
4+ Years: $29.00-30.00/hr + 10% daily tips
(Tip Pool Example: If the total daily night tip pool is $300, each server takes home 10% ($30) in addition to their base hourly rate).
Earn More with ServSafe: Want to boost your rate faster? We strongly encourage everyone to sharpen their skills. You can earn an automatic pay bump by getting certified in ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager.
ServSafe Certification Pay Boosts
You can directly increase your earnings by completing ServSafe certifications:
ServSafe Food Handler: Completing this certification adds an extra $1.00/hr to your base pay.
ServSafe Food Manager: Completing this certification adds an extra $1.00/hr to your base pay plus an additional 5% of daily tips (bringing your daily tip share from 10% to 15%).
To support you, we will cover 100% of the cost for your first exam attempt. If it takes additional attempts to pass, those retakes will be at your own expense—so take advantage of the study materials on your first try!
New Staff Role Classifications
To make our career paths and pay progression as clear as possible, everyone will now be categorized into four distinct tiers based on experience and certifications:
Junior Server: Employees who have been with us for less than two years and have not completed ServSafe training.
Certified Junior Server: Employees who have been with us for less than two years and have completed either their ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification.
Senior Server: Employees who have been with us for two years or more and have not completed ServSafe training.
Certified Senior Server: Employees who have been with us for two years or more and have completed their ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification.
This structure allows you to take charge of your earnings—completing your ServSafe certification instantly moves you into a higher tier without having to wait on tenure.
Thank you for being such a great team. Reach out to me if you have any questions about the new transition!
